"Mould Township" Huangyan Creates Industrial Highlands

On the morning of the 18th, at the first China (Huangyan) Mould Industry Development Summit Forum held in Huangyan District, Taizhou City, there was good news: Li Dequn, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, agreed to settle the workstation in Huangyan Smart Mould Town. His joining will greatly enhance the core competitiveness of Huangyan Mould Industry and the popularity of the Mould Town.

Huangyan is known as the "hometown of Chinese moulds". The annual output of moulds accounts for about onetenth of the country's total. The output of plastic commodities accounts for more than 40% of the country's total. The output of Extrusion Moulds accounts for more than 70% of the country's total, and that of new models of electric vehicles accounts for more than 70% of the country's total. The output value of plastic products, automobile and motorcycle accessories, electric bicycles and accessories, machinery and electrical appliances and other related industries driven by the mould industry exceeds 50 billion yuan, accounting for half of Huangyan's industrial economy.

Since this year, Huangyan has taken the smart tooling town as the main platform, taking the tooling industry as the main engine of the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and realizing the regional fission catchup development. It is proposed that by 2021, four die and mould enterprises will be listed and 10 leading international die and mould enterprises will be built. The output value of the die and mould industry cluster will reach 30 billion yuan, thus creating an international leading industrial agglomeration area of the die and mould industry.

Over the past year, Huangyan Mould Industry has made great efforts to upgrade: Huangyan has released the first professional index of the global mould industry, Huangyan China Mould Index; built the first global one-stop purchase center of mould processing equipment and raw materials in China, Huangyan China Mould Expo City; and held the first high-level of China Huangyan Mould Expo. Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, based on the reality of the die and mould industry, facing the global recruitment of talents and intelligence.

At present, Huangyan has 47 hightech enterprises at or above the municipal level, 2 talents from the national and provincial "Thousand Persons Program" and nearly 1000 mould technicians, with the first post-doctoral workstation in the national mould industry.
